closest word I could think of to describe it would be epic. stopped by Arcada do drop off 8 or so pounds with my daughter and her family then stopped in Ukiah to drop off another 10 pounds at my brothers house. now I'm camped in front of the vacuum sealer to take care of last 20 plus pounds. Alex good to meet you up there and the surprised we found each other with all the people and carnage. will try to post later with some pics when they're sent to me.

Thanks for the reports fellas. Eiboh, could you shed a little light on the general locations, methods of take, and 'no pictures..did'nt happen" :smt044

Tried my luck out in the front of the mouth slow trolling roe on Saturday. No love but a learning experience navigating threw all the netters. Was a little windy as well

Fish the mouth on the outgoing, use 2oz drift ball sinkers and 6'-8' 30# mono as leader straight to a 3/0 hook tied with yarn; then floss the hell out of them....

when the tied turns, troll spinners on a 3' leader tied to a 3-way swivel with a 12" line tied to a 2oz-3oz drift ball... in the deep  channel of the river to the 101 overpass....

remember, they are nolonger feeding; so put it right in front of there face to irritate them into striking...

Thanks for the reply and info. Was a huge learning experience for me. Took my time and soaked up the area while I was there. Hiked the south side of the river the first day there. Thursday.  Did no fishing. Drove the North side of the river later that day and checked out the other campsites and views . Friday morning , drove out to south side road and hiked to river for some combat fishing from shore. No love. There were 2 small runs that day at about 10 am and 2 pm. returned to camp for lunch. Returned later that evening to surf fish. Walked all the way to the south rock for what I believe was a small moon eye. Headed back just south of the mouth were the birds were working. Bang, there they are. Landed 2 nice redtails for my dinner. Satuday was my day to explore the river with the yak. Headed straight out from my campsite just north of Klamath. The Chinook. Bob who is managing the site also occasionally guides. Nice guy. Encountered nets immediately. Did some slow trolling with roe in and out of a few nets there. Tired of that and headed out to the mouth. Actually spent to much time watching the netters do there thing. Seen salmon being pulled from the nets here and there. Finally navigated my way to the mouth for only about an hour of trolling due to strong wind. No love. Headed back up the river taking  my time and slow trolling enjoying the scenery. Near the end of my troll I switched to a small kastmaster and picked up a small steel head of about 12 inches. Released him for another day. I had actually made my way some where up near the glenn to find little rays tackle shop. Bought some gear and headed back to camp. Should have spent a little more time exploring that area. I hate to say it , but I was pretty exhausted by then. Sleep apnea is a bitch !!! I am doing a hell of a lot better after my surgery. About three years back, I would never have considered doing a 8 hour drive alone.
So sunday my last day I should have gone up to the Glen, but just a little too tired. Next year I will  crush the Klamath. lol. So headed back to the mouth for one last hike and do some combat fishing. Were a few more spurts of fishing being caught. Said good buy to the Klamath and hike back out to the road. Was sad to leave. Just before I hit the road, there is DFW doing there job. I make my way threw and I hear them telling a fisherman he has not filled his card out correctly. Took my time driving home and already had started thinking how I would plan my trip for 2016. :smt001

Let us know how you did ?

I ended up sharing a campsite from a guy and his nephew. They were from san jose. just up the street from Salinas. They limited early from the bank monday. 4 nice fish. He sent a pic to rub it in. Would have been nice to stay till Monday afternoon. The campsite was preparing a pig , turkey and smoked salmon for the holiday. Was a small camp site that had electricity for only 30 bucks. 25 without. They also hosted a nice campfire at the rivers. Great place. Quiet and friendly. Tons of pics and videos to upload still. Oh, So I only ended up paying 15 dollars a night on the second and 3rd day. And when I went to pay. There was a beautiful Lady hosting the counter that was visiting from Alaska. :smt001 she even gave me a military discount. HURA !! So only 28 bucks for 2 additional nights with electricity. I was gonna post a pic with my cot right next to my truck with the sleep apnea hose coming from inside. :smt005

I was up there for 4 days right before the weekend and it was DEAD!  Sounds like some came in right after I left... Also, if you talked with Allen "O2B" and he mentioned "Jonesz" I'm guessing it was me? Jonesy is a common nickname for us Jones' I use the Z to try and be a little unique... :smt002 Even if nothing is happening I love being up there. Love the drive too. Just gets prettier every mile.

Allen did mention you. He said your other name was Mr. Klamath. I don't know what that was all about.  :smt003 .
I did also try and hook up with Mako1 ( Juan ) and also Cam. But I guess it wasn't in the cards. Was really looking forward to it but it didn't materialize. I had no reception there. And was unable to locate them.So I just made the best of it.  :smt001 The Jones'z I was referring to was "eiboh " He says that is his nickname as well. It just so happened that i heard someone yell out jonesz on the combat line so i made a loud comment back and there he is. Eiboh. Talked with him several days there and also met some of the guys in his group that smashed a few salmon. Heard Monday morning was a great day !

Still hoping to see ya all up there next year. I will definitely plan it a little better next year and arrange meetings now that i refreshed myself of the area.
