Mike-

I hear you bro... don't get me wrong. It's all about fun for me. I just like taking my shots at Joel because it's insane the amout of time he spends on the water. I can't imagine being able to spend that much time on the water like Mooch. I can't wait until my kiddies are old enough so I can take them out there with me. Yup, he is broadening his horizon this year.  I hear he's in the market for a wetsuit already... if he hasn't purchased one already. Hopefully, he'll be ready to do some ab diving with us in the Spring. I hear he was an above average diver in the Islands back in the day. I can't wait to see him in the water... this is going to be another fun year. I may have to purchase a spear gun now.

I hear you Freddie, so do I , It was just one of my New Years Resolutions to be kinder and nicer in 2007 but I think a week is long enough :smt005

Seriously Freddie you did an amazing job this year, and Mooch always seems to catch something even if the catching is terrible. I wonder how many times he has been skunked this year,

Mooch, hats off to ya brah! You are an amazing fisherman whether you have one day on the water or 100 days on the water. Nothing can detract from your abilities and expertice. Congratulations.
As far as the Angler of the Year Tournament is concerned; I will always enter and I will always expect not to win.
I am a 4 hour drive  to the ocean. One hundred twenty five mile drive to the bay. The fishing in my neck of the woods is just OK. By no means is it epic. But ya know what? I don't care. For me it is ALL about fun and comerarderie. If I happen to luck out and catch a good fish that might give me points..GREAT! If I don't...GREAT!! At least I got out.
I loved the Angler of the Year Award ceremony last year at Ono grill even though I was not entered in the tourney. Met a lot of new faces and had a great time. And had I entered I would have won something with a big Cab I caught. Didn't matter, I had fun.
If anyone thinks I am going to get bent out of shape over a fishing reel or a little bit of cash think again.
I cannot put a price on the fun I have or the competition of the Angler of the Year, even though I don't care if I win.

If we got Mooch a GF... we'd never see him again... Still debating if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Either way, he needs one.

Speaking of awards lunches anyone have any ideas? Ono is closed down so that is a no go. It would be nice if it was near the water so we could fish before hand (surf perch or yak) and somewhat centrally located (HMB/Pacifica).

Any ideas?

No ideas, but the death of Ono was a low-point of 06.

Anything in SF or Marin that might work?
