Check out Steve's post under fish reports. Looks like troops are mobilizing for a Saturday salmon assault from Muir Beach.  :smt003

IME, salmon bite in the grey of early dawn, and after that you can pretty much forget it.

Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

I agree with PS, I'm pretty sure I'm in and would like to launch before 5:30.

Gates don't open until 8:00 am at Muir.  What to do? Isn't Slide closer to Stinson and a Bolinas launh better?

Why, wheel your kayak around the gate and to the surf.  It's only 20% longer (of roadway) when the gate is closed.  You can park in the lot of the hotel that's 300 yards up the road.

ok. Looks like the wind may finally cooperate.  I see light winds continuing until Satuday and the swell is down.  I think I will cancel the TI trip and go for salmon at Muir.  I see chlorophyll as far north as Muir but not much above.  The water temp is a bit high up our way.  HMB temps and chlor. look better so we will see which area does best.

Gabe, want to car-pool?

Using ship-to-shore, I just heard a Coastsider at Slide Ranch talking about one in 70' of water.

Coastsiders are reporting crabs off slide ranch too, so might soak the traps as well to get in on that.  Guys didn't do so well today, so maybe crab would be the only game in town.

After my last two trips to Moss, I'd rather take a short drive for a small chance.  Gabe and I will try to be at Muir at around 5:00.
