Anyone reserve camping yet?  Wondering where to be.

They turn off reservations at the end of September or something. It will be first come first served. Isn't the state park the location?

 Conditions are still thick and green. Kelsey creek isn't running. There are a lot of birds working the state park area though. Maybe the coming cooling trend will clear up some of the cheese before your tourney.

Call it 7am state park. I'll post a hook up later in the week. I haven't fished CL in forever, and never in my kayak.

7am friday. That's doable. I'd have to be up and out of my place around 4, long drive.. I don't have a radio, so I'll just try to find you if I'm late.

I was there on Saturday with my Pops.  It was his first time on the lake and also his first time fishing from a kayak.  We had a good time and caught some decent fish.  Numbers were way up but the quality of fish was down from what I usually do on the lake.  I caught 26 bass but most were in the 12" range.  I did manage a 19.5", 19.25", and a 17.5" for my best three.  Dad struggled a bit and only caught 5 bass with nothing over 12".  He had a +5lb hooked but it came up and tailwalked and threw his lure back at him!  The fish are biting and the water has been clearing up!  Visibility was considerably better Saturday than when we fished the WKBS tourney up there in the middle of the Valley Fire.  I suspect it will only get better by the time the FreshKATS event roles around.  BAIT IS THICK!!!!!!  Lots of glass minnows and tule perch any where you can find a little bit of grass for them to hide in.  When I say lots I mean huge clouds of bait!!!!

Amy is going the event, awesome!   Looking forward to seeing you both.  I'm headed off to Davis for a couple days tomorrow.  Big trout time!!!

Sweet!  You know I have 2 rods loaded with intermediate lines now...  Think davis lake will be fishable the weekend after this event?

Possibly, it will depend on the weather.  I'll take you out there and show you around if it is still fishing.
