FYI fromFuzz

Just wanted to throw a heads-up for tomorrow.


Dove LM this afternoon and got buzzed by a GWS twice.  Friendly guy, I gave him a gentle poke on second pass and that seemed to spook him... or make him mad... I didn't stick around to find out.  This was about 50-75yds towards taco bell from the wreck at the reef/sand break.


Debated posting this since I didn't feel it posed a real threat... but couldn't bear if someone got bitten without having given fair warning.




Aside from that, pretty nice conditions for LM.  Ankle slapper waves on south end of the beach, decent 6-8ft vis at high tide (may be murky during dive tmw due to tides), and lot of fish out and about.

I appreciate the heads up. Thanks Fuzz and Tote.   The realities of the SMC, I guess. 

On a positive note, "lot of fish out and about."   

That's the general area a guy got hit on a Tarpon 160 a year or two ago I believe.

Yeah, I remember that story... now.  But it makes sense that the GWSs are probably starting to move north to meet the salmon run.

Fuzz was supposed to be my dive buddy, but I showed up late and didn't dive that area.  Glad I didn't! But fuuuu... crazy debrief on the car ride home
