The first annual Tahoe Salmon Slam will be held on 29 August 2015.

http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=63144.0

Tournament host and Kokanee-slayer Ricci Chavez/FishWorks has generously stepped-up and will provide a free seminar on how to target kokanee, trout and macs at Tahoe in preparation for the tournament.  Ricci will cover kayak rigging, gear and tackle, and techniques for targeting these species.  This promises to be a fun and information packed seminar not to be missed!  Thanks to Ricci for sharing his time and knowledge!

Seminar will start at 6:30 PM on 30 July 2015 at California Canoe and Kayak in Rancho Cordova, CA.  We'll have the usual potluck starting around 5:30 PM.  CCK will provide BBQ hot dogs/sausages, fixings, and utensils.  Please bring something to share with the group.  Seminar will run 60-90 minutes and then there will be time to hang and talk kayak fishing.  Thanks to CCK and Jeff for hosting!

New members and non-NCKA folks are encouraged to attend and have the opportunity to meet other local members and kayak anglers.

Please post-up if you will attend so we can get a rough idea for the potluck and seating.

Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

That's right fellas, I'll be spilling all my secrets and tips on kokanee fishing  to help get you guys to catch more fish. The season for kokanee is already well on the way but the Tahoe fishery is about to take off and bust loose. :smt007 This is going to be a well informed seminar on kokanee fishing and how to fish Tahoe for Macks and Trout. Everything from Tackle to trolling techniques, to seasons and proper kayak rigging will be discussed.  Mark your calendars, this is one not to miss. See you there! :smt006

Damm, can't make this one due to work, any chance of getting the short 101 version online ?
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Seminar is this Thursday.  It's going to be a good one!  Great opportunity to learn about catching kokes and macks in prep for the Tahoe Salmon Slam in August. Hope to see a good turnout - please post-up or send me a PM if you will attend so we can plan the BBQ.

PS- might want to bring a sweater!   :smt044
