Yes.  Looks like we will be joining you.  Water looks pretty calm.  The tide is a bit on the strong side.  Our plan is to start fishing about 9.  So will be lauching at Halfmoon Bay Kayak at 8.  We will be in a red Hobie tandem, Chan 69.  The plan is to hit the area between the 1st can and Maverick can.  If it is a bit rough, we'll say close to the 1st can.      I love going in the weekdays.  No traffic...                             Herb N.

How often do you guys test this lunar theory? Does it coincide with fish activity?

Makes me want to go on Thursday.

Everyone has their own ideas.  some say the moon is too bright, thus they were feeding all night. some say no moon, thus hungry.  I seem to believe the large moving tide makes them lazy and don't want to eat.  My feeling is that if they were struggling during the current moving hard, they should be hungry after the current slow down.  Which means they should start biting after 10 am.  With that in mind, the wind may throw our butts back on shore by 11.  So it is anybody's guess.  We will report how we do after the fact.
Me and Michael Y. plan to go tomorrow.  Michael had to take time out off of work.  Thursday will not work.  Wish us luck.  I think it is a good idea to go in separate kayak for safety reasons.

we  did not do so hot today. We got out there at 8:15 a.m. the current was very strong as I had expected. We did not get one single bite. After a while we decided to head in. Even though the best time to fish was coming up at 11.

That sucks man.. Im not sure why its such a big hit and miss at HMB. Last couple times I was there I hooked only a couple fish.  Thanks goodness I had pots out and came home with crab.

I am not an experienced kayak fisher. Is this all too common with HMB?

Has fishing ever been great there?

Let's put our heads together and see if we can figure this out. It seems to me that the tide does have a lot to do with it. Last week should be bad. I am a true believer that the tide has something to do with it. Every now and then it proved me wrong. But I'm more right and wrong.  I do hope that you guys r going tomorrow scores.
So with that in mind, this weekend is definitely out for rockfish. Anybody care to go for monkey face eel? With the low tide, it should be good.

I did see  birds diving at Half Moon Bay kayak. I think they are much smaller. Perhaps herring.
