It's a familiar story. Wife says we have too many guns! 7 Rifles. First 4 are the best 4. Last 3 are more of a "beater" category - fully functional but more basic/not as pretty. All them will be glad to chase deer, pigs and more!

Being muzzle loaders there is no FFL transfer and it can be shipped to you if you're not local. Located in Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley but can ship to the bay area at $10. a rifle.

1. CVA Staghorn - Excellent condition. Probably shot once or twice. Uses #11 primers. Good iron sights and pre drilled for scope - SOLD

2. BPI - New Frontier Muzzleloading - Wind River Magnum - Uses 209 primers - A little surface rust flecking but good shape, basic sights, pre drilled for scope. - $120.

3. CVA Buckhorn Magnum - NEW! unfired to my knowledge. Perfect and clean. Has rubber grip for cocking, New Remington 3x9x40 scope and Weaver scope mounts, Black Leather and nylon sling, uses 209 primers - $220.

4. Knight LK93 - shows signs of use/light flecking but good smooth operation. Kwik Site mounts and Tasco scope in good condition. Missing tip of front sight. Uses #11 primers- $150

5. CVA Staghorn Magnum - some surface rust, no sights or ramrod. New breech plug. uses 209 primers - $80.

6. Traditions Tracker 209 - Basic and in pretty good shape. Needs sights or a scope - it is pre drilled. Uses 209 primers - $100.

7. Traditions Sporter Mag - Looks nice. Has a little surface rust on the action but operates smoothly. Scope mounts and Powerline 3-9x32 scope. Uses #11 primers. - SOLD

8. CVA Bobcat .50 caliber percussion - SOLD

9. CVA Wolf break action. light wear but good condition. Scope mounts included. SOLD

I have some extras and accessories that I need to dig out and photograph and can add to this thread.

And yeah, I know Los Altos rod & gun club has a range that you can use them. They have open hours through the week.

Muzzleloaders are welcome at any range that you can shoot long guns. I am looking at the encore 209/50, only because then I can buy barrels and swap out for a dif caliber or shotgun barrel.

. . . any range except indoor ranges in Chico.

P.S.  I'm looking for FFF or FFFF.

I can see how indoor range could be an issue.

These are a great deal for some one, Muzzle loading is easy to get into. They are deadly accurate. I've shot six elk, and several deer. Furthest Elk 208 yards, Colorado mule deer last year 285 yards , Buffalo 128 yards, Prairie dog 85 yards
Can be fairly economical fun shooting.

No, there is no licensing, paperwork etc. for muzzle loading firearms. They can be shipped via USPS and handed over face to face.

Most other firearms (Really any other firearms made after 1898) must be transferred through an FFL in the state of California. Different from prior states I've lived in where a handshake was enough to buy about anything. As per usual - crime rates in those states were far lower than her in California. FFL transfer isn't that bad. Most gun shops do it for a fee between $25 and $50.

Part of the reason I own more muzzle loaders is that they are as accurate as most centerfire rifles, but are more affordable, and have no additional hassle and fees attached to transfer. Just good old fashioned cash and handshake. I've always stressed precision over rate of fire anyway. My deer rifle and shotgun were both single shots until a few years ago.
