If it's not raining, I plan to hit RS on Saturday.
Should be there around 7:30 or 8am.

Want to try my luck on some of those planted "Amador cutbow" trout.

Nice fish Adam...I don't know if that's a cutbow. Where did you catch it?

The info I have is SMUD buys the cutbows from Amador's trout farm and plants for a while.
After that, they plant the regular DFG trout until the March trout derby at RS.

Hi Al, I caught it in Shadow Cliffs Res. Livermore. They plant the trout,so maybe they planted a batch of the cutbows at one time?  I just saw the newest FishSniff and they show a couple that look similar in the GILL color (reddish) and the JAW HOOK (not rainbow small)

Any intel on the RS cutbow plants??  went out sat morn to the local res.(25 min) and tossed what ya taught me,"the Senko" had a fat-one on that shot straight up then shook me loose 5 feet next to me,me heart was in me throat..then it was broke. :smt010 and it was freezing!

Nice communicating with you and thanks for building my confidence in senko huntin', been getting that way ever since.

Adam, we need to hookup at Amador. Then we can get some real pics (and a stringer or two) of the fish.

Adam, lake Amador is south of Ione, Amador county. Near Pardee.
That would be a long drive for you. Might wait til spring and make a weekend of it.

I also heard amador is a big "pay" lake. if paying a lot to fish (even if you catch alot) kind of ruins the buzz, it might not be for you.

on the sniffer a guy said he paid $43 to launch a boat with 3 anglers.

it seems 9 out of 10 sacramento trout sniffers fish there, they have one huge amador thread.

adam, I never fished there, I have no real clue. I do know the skateboard bowl in Ione look sweet!  :smt004

If I ever get the time to go east for trout, I would like to try mcclain, mcclure, melones, don pedro and camanche (might have got that last one wrong). I waterskiied once on melones in the summer.

for now, it'll probably stick with secret spot xJ-11.5, aka SCR...  :smt005  before you know it, it will be May anyways.
