I am so competitive, that I've disqualified myself from truly competing at any tourney.

I am always, the last to launch, and the first in. Nobody can beat me.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

People aren’t supposed to look back. I’m certainly not going to do it anymore.”

Of course you aren't. People who are not competitive don't get it, so some of them like to make up stories to explain why the same guys are frequently winning/placing. Some of them are jelly, some are sour grapes, some of them assume that we are in it for material gain, but the vast majority of NCKAers are super chill and great to hang with after the event. Heck, even the sour grapes are awesome dudes.

And then the rules get changed to try and "make it fair" for all and the same guys still win or at least are at the top of the heap. Competition is competition. Someone will always be a winner, and someone will always be jealous of that winner.

Mark of a true competitor? Someone who strives to do better than he has before.

As others have said, come out and play, see how you actually fare...

What we need is a kayak/pistol course competition. That would be bad-ass. Sort of like the guys in the olympics who ski and shoot 22's…….with jello shots.

my hats off to all the people that donate thier tme and put these tournaments on. all your hard work is not lost on me. my opening post was in no way a reference to any dispointment.
i dont have but 2 kayak tourneys under my belt, so i dont have the depth of knowledge many of you have. LRC  was run very professionaly. boat checks equipment checks and so on, the other very laid back. the pistol matches run a lot like LRC,  I enjoyed bolth tourrnaments
i cant hit them all hence my question, so i can pick and choose wich one i go too.

I have to call BS on this.
Seems to me I was the first one in during a tourney that you brought in a hog Cab.

Winning to me is embarrassing to be perfectly honest.

FM1 has been known to not even unstrap his yak from his racks at some tournaments.  He seems to have fun from what I see

Andy is a fairly laid back kinda guy. I can never really tell if he is having fun or not.
