That guy doesn't have much for brains eh?

"I'm gonna parade my new stolen kayak around town on top of an easily identifiable red Jeep Cherokee"

Glad to hear he's gonna get in some trouble for it.

I am interested to see what the penalty will be.
On one hand I like seeing old school justice take place, but on the other hand, with my luck, it would be some guy who just bought it off CL.  :smt044

Let's all just hope that if any of our belongings are ever stolen that the perpetrators are just as f***ing stupid as our friend in the red jeep.

Glad to hear that the kayak is back with its rightful owner.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

Cable locks ftw

I told my story here somewhere a few years ago when some tweeker tried to steal my kayak in broad daylight in front of my dentist's office. Cable lock stopped him.

Annie glad your friend got the Kayak back.
That looks like a Sit inside = No Scuppers how would you lock that up?

My wife's sit-in, and come to think of it, mine both have bars for locks...hers is dedicated & attached with center-dimpled Torx security bolts, mine double as the U-bolts that the handles tie into..many of the SIKs I've see can also lock around the seats inside the cockpit.

I've worried about having this happen to me as well.  I try to be careful, won't buy anything with a serial number scratched off, nor from anybody that's sketchy, but it's something that lingers in my mind on some CL purchases.

Python locks FTW.   When my stolen car w/kayaks was recovered years back, the thieves had cut all the tie down straps from the kayaks, but could not remove the cable/lock woven through the scupper hole and car frame.

Glad to hear the kayak is safe at home.
