Hey Joel -

Where did you buy your bait tube from and would you recommend it over a bait bucket? Unfortunately I have to work on Saturday and have WAF issues on Sunday and will be unable to fish. Also, Storm came out with some new versions of the 3 inch minnow/shad swim bait. One has a single on the back with a treble underneath. Both have enhanced light reflection. Check it out. It was a killer for me last week.

Thanks! Scott

I made mine (just like the rest of the guys) - the total cost was about $10.00 - and all the materials are available at Home Depot (very easy to make) I don't know of any places that sell 'em. The bait bucket just takes too much room on the yak - and also adds weight. The bait tube is way better - especially for a kayaker or a float tuber.

I'll post pics of my own version of the bait tube next week.

I'll probably be out there again Saturday...not positive yet though.

Can someone post the address to the bait shop in Castroville where I can buy minnows?

I'll probably spend some time trying to hook into a couple of bass and then when I'm able to accept defeat I'll switch over and try to catch a trout or two.

Joel,

Do you know George, who owns Kamameshi Japanese Restaurant in South San Francisco. He's pinoy  and I ran into him and he said he knows a close friend named "Joel" in Norcal Kayak but I'm just wandering if that is you.

Joel really gets around.  I was at Thanksgiving dinner with my extended family and was talking to my cousin about kayak fishing.  He said, "Oh, I know a guy who is a kayak fisherman.  His name is Joel...I met him playing volleyball."

It's the same Joel.  What is the chance of that happening?  Really is a small world!

Yeah thanks for catching that...that's what happens when you're trying to do too many things at once.

Thanks for the info...I'll try to get out there to buy some bait if I end up going out to fish with you all.
