I am new to kayak fishing, this is my first season. I have been launching from pacific grove and it has been great. My brother is coming to town and wants to get out on the water. We plan to rent him him a yak from MBK and because we don't want to go through the hassle of credit card holds and deposits to transport the kayak to a different launch we will launch from MBK. I have never launched from there. Can anyone offer any insight for fishing spots, rocks, shelfs. Im not looking for secret spots just a direction to paddle. Then the FF will take over. Thanks for any info guys. See you out there
I only fish on days that end with Y

Head straight out to the jetty and fish the further side of it lots of blues and blacks, perch as well as an occasional ling.. You could also fish the kelp beds along cannery row. Head out a little deeper to the red can in front of the aquarium, there are some reefs there that hold fish. Or.... you can head to the right of the launch to the yellow buoys and fish the reefs there. Make sure to post a report. :smt006
