Do you have a park permit to print for us ( like in a few other cases before) or we do we bring cash for the parking?

ya,,, damn… this is not my gig, it's Dan's on the permit thing so I am not involved, but I was going to try and figure that one out…

I did not get to it,,,  last year, I think they kind of looked the other way. I had talked to them and said no problem, but different "city" people were coming by and checking so I'm not sure what is going on with that, as it is, with the size of this event,,,

feel very lucky to have got a spot… people have been told to arrive around 9, and 3 different buses are coming plus lots of private parties ..

I am making it back, currently stuck in a Oregon rest stop with a dead battery…

kool, have to slow down now…

Marve:  If you bring your pizza gig, the only problem is that people love um and you will have pizza duty all day.  It looks like we have
plenty of help and can assign a person or two to assist you.    Yu will have to bring lots of goodies to put on top.  How many pizzas can you make an hour?

Great Bass II welcome back.  It will be nice to see you both again.  Where ever you see a need Scott, chip in.  (except don't catch a monster trout as we will all be jealous)

If we have 25 volunteers and 150 people we are watching, how do we have plenty of help? I know of the 25 we are losing 10-12 to shore duty of some type. That leaves 10-15 of us to watch over all these people on the water. Even if we only have 40-45 kayaks available that is minimum 3 per guide. If everyone keeps getting assigned to shore duty I guess on the water can just be a free for all. I'm sure it will all work out, but not everyone can have shore duty.

We will definitely need guides, the back river is real spread out so it will be tough keeping an eye on everyone, unlike lakes.

I can bring my kayak and after the tide of paperwork subsides I can join on the water guide/safety patrol....
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Yes, we do need as much help as we can get. I as unaware there is big maze back there, that's not good,  we mood to set this up in a zone defense. There will be those individuals who need extra care, but if we have solid zone defense with communication, probably your own channel for guides, and take our time to get it right,,,  saftey is number one. The first check and last comes at launch command. And we should have an accountability system. No doubt the is going to be insane, but if we keep it under our control at our speed, we'll be fine.

You are not counting the paddling community that Dan brings.  The last time I was there, I would estimate there were over 30 at our safety talk.  I will see if I can get a head count from Dan.
