Hookup Hmb memorial weekend 5/25

Thinking of going out this coming weekend to hmb for the first time. Was thinking saturday. Don't want to go alone. Anyone planning something or want to hookup this weekend? Gonna try for some rocks, lings, cabs.

Might even be worth your while to go to Monterrey, where the fishing is a bit better. 

Monterey is also an option for me, as well as capitola. Im out of san jose, so they are all about same distances. Hope the conditions are good approaching the weekend.

I'm keeping an eye on the WX and if it continues to look OK i'll head out Saturday.

Any theory why?  Is it weather?

Looks like rain later this week, but if it clears up during the weekend, fishing should be good? I always have this theory that bad weather/ conditions stir things up and the fish come out to feed right after..

We could set up a hookup any of the three days, or any location within 1hr from san jose im very flexible. I just don't want to be out there by myself. I need some time on the water. I just came back from a mini vacation, and you know you're obsessed when all you think of while on vacation is kayaking and fishing, and what you would do if you had all your gear.

Either way, if wx is not ideal, i will probably paddle the bay for some high risk high reward fishing ( risk being getting skunked, and reward being a butt or a stripper)

I was thinking about it. I have my crab stuff packed away. Very few if any keepers that I have seen this month. There isn't as much kelp as past years which may be part of the problem. Even Shelter Cove was tougher fishing than past years.

most likely sunday.  i might bring one trap, to clear out the ling carcasses in my freezer.  i'll set low expectations for bugs though.

Planning on crabbing/fishing on Monday. HMB about 8 from kayak rental beach...

Monday sounds good. Wx looks better. I just made plans for sat, sun to work on the house so Monday would be perfect. Count me in! Im going to change the title date
