The company that I work for (PG&E) is doing a bunch of hiring right now, most of the spots are in the bay area but pretty regularly spots open up in the Sacramento area and in Vacaville as well. If you are tech savvy and have any experience I would suggest that you keep your eyes open for the Mapping Tech positions or the Gas/Electric Estimator spots. there is always random positions open that may require previous experience in the management field, so for those of you that have that experience this may be a really nice opportunity for you all as well.
The company itself is great and the union is really hard nosed and fights for its members (I can personally attest to it)Anyways I thought I would just put that out there in-case anyone was in need of a job or was just looking or whatever.

Just go to the PG&E home page, go to careers and just click search. I just let it list them all just so I can see the options that are out there. Right now there is 254 open positions. So good luck and I hope someone gets a spot if they need one!

For biologists and planners, search under "Land and Environmental Management."
There is currently a position open for Sr. Water Quality Environmental Scientist in San Ramon, and Environmental Field Specialist (essentially Environmental compliance) in Maxwell. PG&E anticipates Land Agent positions opening in Land Conservation.  Positions are often open for a very short time (2 weeks) so check back often.  There is no slowdown in workload projected, and there is a high percentage of imminent retirements.  PG&E just hired a new biologist for Diablo Canyon.. part of their job will be to monitor marine and intertidal health in that area. If you are, or know qualified candidates, encourage them to apply.
