I am thinking of going up to Collins Lake, just above Yuba City on Saturday 5/16. It is a trout lake and is stocked quite often. I am not much of a trout fisherman, but I think I can get a limit of pan size in a day. I would enjoy company if anyone wants to meet me there. No time set yet, sometime around 9AM I am guessing. :yak

It's a  well known fact that I just made up.

If I didn't have the yak a bass chill already planned I'd join you.  I've fished Collins quit a bit. Its been a worm bite. A watermelon dodger and crawler will get you trout.  Good luck Saturday. Please post a report.

I camped up there over the weekend, my first visit.  Brought 3 yaks and over a dozen rods, but since it was Mothers Day and we had a total of 8 kids in our group I never got a chance to fish.  I got the kids into some bluegill/sunfish off the docks, and one spot at 18".  Saturday morning there were at least 40 boats trolling, with very, very few nets in the air.  A bunch of people were fishing off the shore near the beach, I saw a few trout landed (one about 8lbs)...all on powerbait.  Talked to the folks in the store, sounds like the last trout plant happened about 2 weeks ago and it's been a scratch bite since.  If you put the time in I'm sure you could manage to get into a few, but it looked pretty slow.  Waaaaay too crowded for my tastes, but I would like to revisit in late fall/early spring.
