Does anyone know any disadvantages to wearing a blue camo suit as oppose to a green suit in our waters for hunting?

Thanks for your input

don't think the Gray Ghost in our nightmares has a preference so better question to ask is who's doing the hunting ?

If I had nightmares I wouldn't be diving. Thanks for your opinion but the question is the question.

Antonio,

I really don't think it matters for our NorCal fish/waters...

I've seen guys in black suits, green/kelp camo, blue camo etc all get plenty of nice fishies...

Carlitos has been wearing the ocean blue since November and he seems to be doing ok...

Good, valid question Antonio ... I've always wondered the same even though I don't dive.

Most fishes are color blind so they don't know the difference  :smt003

When I posed the question I remembered about Carlitos slaying all those fish but he was I'm sure at depths I haven't reached yet. I know that the deeper you go you lose different colors in the spectrum too.

I've been practicing my stalking techniques on schooling fish and some tend to be pretty skidish. Was thinking more of the water column fish in the 30-40ft range.

Most fishes are color blind so they don't know the difference  :smt003

Sonny, I remember hearing that too.............maybe like Bill said

So it IS true ... lures are to catch fisherman, not fish! :smt003

Maybe its just the camo pattern that matters and not the color????

Thanks guys  :smt006

FWIW...I know a lot of those reds and sheep above (if not all) were taken in the 30-40 foot range...

I'm no expert though Antonio, so just my 2 cents and observations/opinion...

I've failed on plenty of fish in my green/kelp camo cuz I suck and moved too fast and they bolted...when I've been successful I don't think it had to do with the color of my wetsuit but more with my being able to be slow and relaxed and not being a big dummy...  :smt005

My guess is the contrast difference between colors and not the colors themselves ... like lures.  So Jim is actually just a big 'ol lure!  Like fishing, it's all about the presentation of the "lure"  :smt003

LOL!!

I f'ed up on the biggest sheep I have ever seen on my birthday...

I spotted him from the surafce and he was swimming right up at me...instead of dropping at an angle and waiting for him to come closer I dropped straight down at him, he did a 180 and took off and I ended up taking a shot that was out of range for the 60cm gun I was using...shaft plucked one scale off his side and he turned and winked and sped away.

 :smt005 :smt044

That one will haunt me until I shoot a male sheep over 30 inches...one of my goals for this year...

Jim
