the northeast wind is pretty predictable, all the surf sites predict it because it generally means great surfing at ocean beach SF (which it was if way too crowded).  well, I guess now we know what it does to san pablo bay!

what was the wind like @ the forebay I wonder? marmot was saying offshore flow is good for there. I wonder tho, it was pretty strong.

probably a great day to surf perch. all casts are with the wind and the wind is at your back.

supposed to blow offshore all week with fairly puny surf and then a big storm hits us for the weekend! ahhhh, december!  :smt007

Those conditions look BAD!  I've been out there in a PB and would have turned tail first.
Backslider, remember that day of oily-glass last time there?
I know it can get UNFORGIVING, when the Nor-Easters of fall/winter kick-in,I've gone to that side of bay when the winds are non-detectable on this side.......and it just BUILDS and BUILDS until it does what it did.Beats wondering what it was like.

Yeah, Fishunter, I'm actually glad you decided to skip it... though the company would have been nice.  Anyway, Erik's going the 16th... I'll be there too... will probably fish every two-week tide cycle, weather permitting.  I've been out plenty of times where it blows a bit in the morning, then glasses off by ten or eleven, and stays down for the rest of the day (too bad this wasn't one of those days).  It sure makes for some relaxing, if not epic, fishing.

I've heard them say that there are never three good days in a row on the bay...

That's a true statement isn't it?  There are never three good days in a row in teh Bay Area... think of summer-- usually 1-3 days of hot calm weather, then the air cond turns on- and it blows.
I'm sitting here a half mile from Bucks and there isn't enough wind to ripple the water in the canal, or move the leaves on the willows

So why aren't you fishing?????
Hope the rain holds off during the weekends so I can give it another try.
I bought 2 dozen Ghost Shrimp and used a total of 4. Tried to keep the rest alive. Ended up freezing them instead. Thinking about using a 50/50 mix of frozen and fresh next time to save a little $$.

I tried curing mine with Borax and then freezing them... we'll see how they turn out.

Borax dehydrates them and cures them... commonly used for curing salmon roe.  Similar to what salt does.
