Kudos to you!  Glad you came out OK... panicky people can do bad things to rescuers sometimes
Yep, they weren't following instructions. They all tried to hang off one side of my PA. That's when I figured I wasn't going to be able to get them in by myself.

Did you get your life jacket back?
I got it back once they were all loaded up on the boat. I think I need to carry a few more safety items from now on. A throwable life preserver for sure and an air horn. I couldn't get any of the other boats attention.

Similar events appear in the news each year, usually early in the swim season, but worse endings.  I hope these three circle back to you and say, "Thanks for saving my life."

Never understood mixing alcohol and water except once your back on the beach at the end of day. :smt044
Sadly this happens all to frequently :smt010

Big props on the rescue!

The air horn, yes.  But why would you want to burden yourself with even more safety items on the extremely small chance that you will need to rescue someone again?  Yakfishing gear is a pain in the ass enough, and you wanna pack a ring buoy?  You're a better man than most!   :smt006

Second paddle float then?

Glad to hear this ended well.
