I drove up to Stillwater thinking conditions would be OK even if not great but decided there would be better days to yak fish. The smallish red kayak turned around and landed while the blue one went out into the waves and fog. On my way back I checked out TC and it was better for a launch but with big swell and thick fog coming in I headed south toward home. Maybe Monday.

Good call, Charles.  Potential close-outs in fog = a bad idea in my book.

Thought I'd add the return of the little red bathtub. At least this guy decided to beach rather than press on. I'm guessing the yak is 10 feet long if that. Cropped pic.

Is he paddling with an oar??

Or is that just a weird angle on his paddle?

Weird angle. I watched him paddle out with a kayak paddle.

It was bad weather all weekend up north.  I was at point arena saturday.  Launched and about a 3rd away from the bouy i turned back.  Rilling swells were 10 foot at times with fog.  I got back and a couple locals asked what happebed.  I said its was too rough.  One guy said he was waiting for the weather to clear for 3 days and did not launch.  I guess i made a good call.  A couple times i that the waves was going to break on me.  Scary.    Came back sunday saw a bunch of kayaks on the watter around still water and ocean cove.  Confitions were alot better.  But i had to get back home.

I just thought of a new saying for rough ocean days:

"Better safe than crab bait."
