Hi All,

So I have been pouring my own jig heads for a while now and wanted to expand my jig shape to something more than a style 9 shad head.  I wanted to make an octopus head and try to make a somewhat realistic octopus jig. Here is what I came up with.

I used some moldable epoxy putty stick to shape a head around a hook to the shape I wanted. First pic the one in the middle that is red and black is the "original".

Once I got that down I made a mold of the head by using a few old plastic containers and some plaster of paris.  I used a sander to vibrate the air bubbles out of the plaster and make the top surface level.

This worked well and my plan was to use these as a mold to pour a more lead friendly aluminum mold.

Made the mold, put it into a mill to clean up the sides and here you go.  It is not the best looking mold but it works well.

It's a soft plastic octopus that I make. It has a head cavity to fit a jighead. It's still a work in progress, but apparently they work, though I haven't received a Helluva lot of feedback on them. I like the trailer and skirt on those you make. I'm sure it'll slay!

How about a split tail or scampi on that instead of the single curly tail worm? More action never hurt anything! Hell, even a hula grub.

I set one up that was all pink/red with a pink Scampi tail and caught a few on it.  I need to get some split tail worms and any thing else with a lot of action...

This is the OctoBait
I have used it before and it is very good, Last year at Albion in about 1 hr I got two 31"+ lings, 1 huge vermilion, and 1 cabezon with it.
I highly recommend them, but in order not to fall apart I put a zip tide on it.
