Oh the joys of owning an RV.... Wahoo :smt010

After returning home from Ls Hunt & Chill, i noticed that my RV was leaning hard to one side when i parked. I kicked the outer tire to check of it had pressure and it was solid.  I then reach for the inner tire to check pressure and it was completely limp!

I noticed that the RV was driving kinda loose theu Berkeley, but i thought the it was just wind kicking the back end out. Didnt think it was the tires cause i hard all pf them replaced within the last couple of years.

When i crawled under the RV, i noticed that the tread had been spliting from the sidewall on half the tire...

Damn! Gonna cost me another 2 Bennies to f-ing get this replaced!

So of your thinking about getting an RV, hope you got deep pockets! There goes my play funds for a new Range Finder...

Anyone wanna by a brand new Bowtech Carbon Knight?  jk!!! Hahaha

That tire was built the 10th week of 2011. Which makes it 4 yrs old. About as long as RV and trailer tires last.

That sucks Glen.

Less than 4k miles on it and no sign of cracking from sun exposure; it was the inside tire.... you see how much tread is left on the tire??

Does not matter. Inside, outside, lots of tread, no tread. 4-5 yrs and you are rolling the dice.

The biggest cause of RV and trailer tire failure besides age is under inflation. If they are under inflated they get hotter and that will cause a tread sep. The sidewall flex too much generating heat and then after a while, POP! Rv's are a little different, but trailer only tires need to be inflated to the highest pressure recommended on the tire to prevent premature wear.

They sold you old tires. I always check dates before I let them install a tire on anything I own.

I'm always with my family when I use the trailer and that was the one thing that stressed me out the most.  I had the same tires for 7 years with maybe 3K miles since new and I changed them out.

I've learned that it's not the miles but the age of the tire(rubber).
