just get a medium travala rod like most and be done with it..   I love mines.
Pretty darn good all around rod and not that expensive.  Practically indestructible.
I'm considering being buried with mine if I don't some day wear it out on fish.  Light and very sensitive for such a rating.

I've found that I consistently use just two rods in the bay and salt. I use the Trevala MH for vertical jigging (RF, cabezon, ling) and sturgeon, and an Ugly Stick Tiger Lite M for live bait and trolling. Between those two rods there's nothing you're likely to encounter that you can't handle.
