Just picked one of these up for the first time
Dicks sporting goods for 9.00.
. I know it has been posted before. Just trying to bring it back to the fore front for the early rock cod season.
My first time using one.
Advise appreciated. Comes with directions.  :smt001
If I remember correctly. It is ok to have a fishing line out while decending a fish?

And a few trolling pieces for salmon opener. Will be grinding barbs off.   :smt001

Hope ta see you on the water this year.  :smt006. Maybe even making it up farther North than just the Monterey bay. It's hard to do so when so many species here.  :smt001.

nice Alex....look for wire in that size around your shop too this year.....I made one exact like that by seeing it online and then using a little bench vise at my work....it works awesome...just pass it through the soft tissue under the tongue  and out the bottom jaw and lower the fish down..it get a big weight put on the other side of it....the fish looks like it is swimming back down head first.......get it down 40''60 ft..wait a second...some times you feel the fish getting awake and active some times not....just give it a nice gentle  lift and it slide out of the mouth........they work awesome...

actually a great point Alex ..that happens if it goes to deep ot too fast too deep and is not ready to bail off on its own....the idea of saving a blown up little red beauty or canary is to keep that fish alive and that dna breeding and on it's journey again...if I lower it a foot of the bottom into the "HOOD"...and it gets chomped I might as well have given it to seagull....they say if you lower it down and it starts going nuts...try to gently paddle it ways off of that ling...or crank up gentle 10 feet at a time a rest it...you can let it down 20' in like 180' fow and a swollen fish will chill a minute and then start wiggling...little pop and it's free...I never see them float up again ever...it WORKS!!!!..and it only takes like 60seconds out my day
