Went to Baja for a week. Spent three days out with Colin Sutton down by Los Planes. Had a great time even though we didn't get anything good. 1 day was kind of rough and 2 days the water was like glass. Viz varied from 20'-80'

First day I shot 2 parrot fish and a buddy shot a cabrilla and a parrot. Second day Colin shot a yellowtail. Third day was a a ton of yellowtail and wahoo just out of range. We just couldn't get close. It was either too far to shoot, or too far to get the flopper to open. Buddy hit a wahoo but grabbed the line and ripped out the spear. Other buddy missed a dorado. I shot a pargo and called it a day.

Had them all cooked at local restaurants. Really need to work on stalking. Colin kept telling us to not swim at them. I saw a wahoo and looked away and swam sideways too it. Felt even stupider than taking a long shot as it just kept going and and I put more distance between it, never to be seen again hahaha....

Had a blast. Just got home, it's a few minutes till midnight and in 5 hours i'm getting up to go get some NorCal water, because apparently I need some practice.

Looks like you had a blast. NorCal has an abundance of good fish at reasonable depths.   Some places you just have to do what the locals are doing and adapt.  Gives you a reason to go back and try again.

Nice!  Iron Maiden is hugely underrepresented in spearing/fishing videos.

Cool video! Hey you got fed, got a good workout and probably had cold beers waiting- what's not to like! And you did some deep diving it looks like. Sometimes the yellowtail are just at the surface and lot of them. Love the cows on the road- Baja at its finest!
