So I pick up a Riversider rod / reel spinning combo at Dick's over the weekend. 10' ultra light action, 2 to 8 lb test, IM7 rod paired with a Diawa Sweepfire 2500 for $49 bucks. Nice looking rod, I'm not a Diawa fan, but it works till I can replace it with a Shimano. Used it over the weekend, did fine with a 1/2 oz Carolina rig and a descant perch.
Its a little nose heavy, and works on your hand so I was thinking of one of those rod balance kits, has anyone used one of these kits before. I haven't really considered the balance kits in the past because of the added weight and most of my 7' rods are balanced fairly well, so no added weight wanted or needed. What do you think?

I think for $50.00 use the thing till its shot and give it to some kid after that. forget the balance..... not worth your trouble!!

Take a look at Bass Pro's "Float N Fly' rods. I have a couple 8'6" that I use with a cast a bubble and real small lead head; mostly up at Eagle Lake
