... and terribly inefficient.

We are still battling the mentality with employees. Hard to break a culture that has been ingrained for sooo looonnnnggg...

But we have come along way since I started back in 1999... in some areas we are more efficient; in others, we still need some alot of work.

Either way, i still get paid! :smt044

I was referring to things like employees hiding in the bathrooms for hours when all of the supervisors were of the opposite sex as being inefficient.

Oh Snap!

but that was way before my time... now they just hide so they dont have to work...
Now they just spend all day on NCKA. :smt003 :smt002

You've been forewarned.  :smt011

Just to clarify, there are a lot of good people who work for USPS like Glen and Mike, but the system/business has some serious issues, not to mention they may be obsolete in the next few years. I also worked for UPS and the experience was the opposite, good company and well run. This was back in the 1970's so things have changed quite a bit. But if I were looking for a job, I would choose any of the carriers over USPS.

Want a job clearing unexploded ordinance? I know a guy...

I do that sometimes...

Actually, we're looking to hire an engineer or geologist to join the fun.

Hmm... We're looking for a full time enviromental engineer or geologist with something like 1-3 years of field experience.  We mostly work soil and groundwater contamination sites here in CA, but they sometimes fly me out of state to help out at munitions sites.

Whole other topic.... Sorry about the hijack.

About USPS... We've had VERY bad luck with our mail carriers. We get other people's mail almost on a daily basis. Wrong name, wrong address, wrong street, even wrong city.

We filed an "anonymous" complaint after watching one guy toss a package about 20 feet up onto our neighbors stoop. When it hit the ground, whatever glass was in there shattered LOUDLY as the guy hustled back to his jeep and sped off. Now we have a different carrier but we still get other people's mail just about every day.

Makes me wonder who's getting MY mail?!?!?

Whack jobs. :smt044

http://www.kionrightnow.com/news/usps-driver-caught-throwing-package-into-yard/31978512

At least she got out of her vehicle, our pos carrier doesn't bother to open her door just throws the package in the driveway and takes off!  I've tried to complain before to the postmaster and he said since its a rural carrier they don't even bother confronting them.
