Does the 2015 AI AMA fit on the older AI models? Would like a little more floatation. Tx Scott

I don't believe so.  I think Elusive said the akas were closer together on the newer models, which match the Tandem.

Hi Scott, this is the emailed I received from Hobies Reps (Jacques Bernier) on Sept. 8, 2014 .. : the spacing for the deck mounted bars on the new AI 2015 are closer together (to match the TI) than the earlier AI's. Unfortunately , with this closer dimension (2014 and earlier model AI) you won't be able to to tension your current tramps enough on the new AI. You will have to get a new Tramps unless you'd want to get created with your current tramps to modify them ...

Thanks guys. Figured they wouldn't fit since the boat geometry is different.

No you can do it but the forward part of the AMA would be angled in not parallel to the hull.

It's a very simple solution . Just add on another strap (extension) with the same size buckles at least 12 inches long on each strap and that would solve the problem . Period !

One of my buckles broke and I looked up the brand. I was able to find it on Amazon for $10 - 10 pairs. It's the 2nd time this has happened and I'm hoping that it's a perfect fit. The prior fix was to use a buckle off of the yellow hobie bag.
