Way to go on a successful event Don! To bad the VA FUBAR'd as usual!! Getting sick of their incompetents and how they treat veterans. These events do them so much good and gives them something to look forward to.

We put a few guys from Bonham PTSD clinic on the water last November in 22 degree weather and even with the cold they had a blast. Caught fish too and even came out to the next event a few weeks later.

We also just had our event last week at Frito Lay's HQ lake and it too was a blast. I only got to fish for a little over an hour but still got 20 nice bass in the boat. The event before I put on a clinic and put over 50 big bass in the kayak right in front of my director, George. I'd cast right where he did and nail his fish! He accused me of "hogging" the spot. Heck their were four guys pounding it and I was the only one getting a fish almost every cast. I gave up because my arm got sore.

We have another event planned for next Saturday at a trophy bass lake and that is where George usually schools me. I'm getting more involved here with HOW and taking on more responsibilities. Fun times.  :smt003

Kool stuff Splashdown…

ya, we were loaded for bear on this one…  thought we would be serving a lot of vets, and yup, the VA dropped the ball. I was not running this one, it was another fly fishing org and I can see now why the VA says were the best run organization they work with. The Fly Fishing org rallied a lot of resources, but they did not do things right and seemed to be more impressed with themselves on how they could bother everyone with their event rather than actually serving vets,,,

lesson learned and thanks again to all the volunteers that showed…  I guess the good thing is if everyone did show, we would have got our asses kicked on a very hot day…  so all good...
