Seam Im dealing with the same thing right now. Today. Im sitting here looking at Tessa and I don't know what to do. I am totally at a loss. Torn between life for her suffering or to just end it today. This is one of the hardest things ever in my life to decide on.

Im so sorry for your loss Sean. I know from the past the past the heart heals and mends but when the moment comes to decide, I would rather die than make it. I love you bro.

This is one of the most difficult things I've ever been faced with too.  The best thing I can suggest is think of what you would want someone to do for you, and let that answer be your guide.

It is wicked rough Craig, really sorry to hear it.
Our dogs have jobs and it ends up falling to us to let them rest when their work is done.. Sometimes they are stoic and it is just that the darn body just doesn't work right anymore, even if the mind is still there. My dad and Tripper were the same in that regard.

For me, I had to plan it out and prepare for a couple of weeks beforehand. The last week we were so afraid that it would end...well, in a way we did not want. I was lucky in many respects, it all went according to how I pictured it. Surreal, but there it was.

I found myself watching "Happy People" twice during the last week because I loved the dogs in the film.

Sorrow and Joy, it is all part of our journey. In the end the sun still rises, the sea glasses off, and it falls to us to keep paddling forward.

So sorry to hear Sean... Makes me really sad to hear of such a good friends passing.    :smt010  Glad she lived and enjoyed your company for as long as she did despite the illness.  Just wish they could live forever, never get old, sick, or injured.  May she rest in peace...

Damnit.  It's just not fair that our pets don't live as long as us.  She was a very good dog, so sweet tempered and mellow.

Im sorry to hear about this Sean.  I know how tough this is. She was blessed to have found you; and you her. She has a beautiful resting place and her memory will live on in the forest and mist and the wind.

I'm very sorry for your loss. It's a hard one to deal with, thinking about my dog can still bring tears 10 years later. Giant smiles too, so I try to remember those. My condolences to you and yours. ravensblack too, the decision was the hardest thing ever. Keep paddling forward.
