live minnows have the most luck there is a bait shop next to the area.  I have had much luck with top water lures as well.  Wear a hat it can get hot and sun burn is always a worry for me.  Good luck

A carolina rigged bait hook with 2' fluorocarbon leader of 10-15 lb and minnows get it done. A second pole with a top water or jerk bait for striper visibly chasing bait recommended. Use the fish finder to get on bait balls and drop the minnow just above them and hold on... Good luck!!!

Get bait at Main street market... https://plus.google.com/107411760949092574772/about?pid=6059339508689897714&oid=107411760949092574772
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

I fly fished it for 4 hours on super bowl sunday. Was kinda slow, I expected it to be better with reports I was getting. Landed 4, only 1 keeper size. I launched from the  boat launch on the west side, always get a fish near that launch. Fished the swim beaches over to the power line islands and caught a couple and a few more grabs.

I should have launched at Medeiros and fished the rock wall, flats were kinda dead. When the sun got high I couldn't buy a bite.

white jerk baits if they are boiling on top, Alabama rig works too at times. Red/white large lipless sinking types cranks work too in the areas where water flows in at the north. Look for the boils at first light and last lite.

If your kayaking make sure your boat is 100% dry and clean. Not dirt or mud or anything.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
