The guys with Revos will favor Revos, myself included.  The guys with Outbacks will favor Outbacks.  I don't think you can really go wrong with either.
I was thinking about this the other day.
We often see guys go from an Outback to a Revo.
But has anyone ever gone from Revo to an Outback? Not many.

I recently purchased a 2015 Revo at the ISE here in Sac last month.  I've used it probably 7 times since the purchase.  From going from an outback to the revo was quite difference all around.  Haha when I first hoped into the revo I damn near flipped it, the out back by far is more stable but is super slow.  I'm pretty comfortable in the new revo now but will be hesitant to put it on the salt yet.  But the outback has more room for rigging and trays on the sides for all your loose shit from being out on the water for the day, and it has 2 cup holders  =) haha. I must say the new mirage drive pedals like butter but the new fin design isn't as good as the turbo fins.

I love my outback because I can fish anywhere and take naps without worry. It may not be as fast as a Revo but I'm not otw to race.

I tried both at California Canoe and Kayak and went with the Revo which was faster and punched through the chop much better than the Outback. The advantage of the Outback is more easy access to side trays for tackle and the round hatch in front of the seat can be converted to a rectangular hatch that hold standard Plano tackle boxes.

I also wanted to sail with the boat and the Revo is better suited to this use although the Outback is still going to work OK. The Outback hull weighs only 5 lbs. more so I would not worry about that aspect in your decision.

As a fishing platform the Outback is better with its greater width. You can more easily get to gear than with the Revo. The wider the person's behind is the more challenging the Revo will be to use out on the water. As a craft to get somewhere quickly and that accelerates faster and is more fun for non-fishing use on the water I would recommend the Revo.

I don't think you will be unhappy with either boat you choose to get.
