Ben, good thought and you would have been welcome to take from them, but I am sorry, pulled them...  I was planning on pulling them as of last night, so I could use them closer to shore with lighter weighting.  But I might keep paddling out farther, after today's catch.

Yea, flipping the yak and losing those first 2 crab, and my glasses, did suck... The 2nd pot, crab, and weights inside were probably 40 lbs in all.  I guess I should do those 2-day retrieves with some help.  Maybe we can hook it up in the future Ben, and split the take.  Would have had 10 instead of 7 then anyway.

I noticed Hwy 1 is closed starting Nov 20 thru February.  I guess the alt route is past Muir Woods entrance and down into the valley that way.

Etienne, I was at 60', but that 60' shelf extended from .5 to 2.5 miles out, maybe farther - I just stopped trying to find 70' cause i got tired of paddling.

Thanks for the props, all!  Yeah, these are fatties and still have all legs intact, just missing a couple toes out of the bunch.  My boss and our Ofc Mgr are looking forward to crab dinners Monday...

Wow, I guess the big boys have to grow some big cajones to survive out in the deep water.  Those critters were are about an inch bigger than the punks that Ben and I harvested.  I think Ben had a couple at 6.5".  I had one that big but the other 3 were 6" even.

The surf sure looks a lot different from this past Wednesday.  I take it you took my hint to lean into the wave coming in this time.  Yahoo...ride that baby all the way into the sand and looking good (and not wet) when you get there.

I was worried that the commies would pull your traps and leave you with nothing but it sounds like they may have only found one.  If they were near each other I would have suspected that they would be equally as loaded.

Good job, the overnight soak really boosted the numbers.
