There has been an update from NWS in Eureka, a down trend in the total precip to hit Humboldt, Del Norte and Mendocino see details attached.

Someone was telling me recently that you can use a washer/dryer connector to plug your generator into the house wiring, and that you could flip the main breakers to prevent passing your current back up to PG&E, and everything in your house will just work.  Is that for real???

Yes. That will work. It is safer to route the power through a separate circuit box though. Turning off main circuit to PGE in feed is critical in generator use for the home.

Losing power sucks, but no big deal if it isnt longer than a day. Funny though how loss of electricity shuts society down in cities. Im good for a really long time without power if need be. And, when it floods, I can kayak up to the Wal-Mart and loot the shit out of twinkies to get by! :smt006

Within the "range", perhaps. This newest one is showing quite a bit less than the original post. Compare to my previous post with the attachment.

Woke up around 2 or 3 this morning to very powerful winds.  My anamometer clocked peaks at 38mph on our ridgetop here.  Kinda died down this morning to gusts of 20mph but very warm; 67 degrees outside (warmer than inside at 65)

A few lawnm chairs and door mats blown around, but nothing else.  I'm gonna take the flag down until this storms pass I think.

****EDIT****
Started to sprinkle while taking the flag down.  Hope we get some good amounts to fill these reservoirs!

Very windy all night, at least one school closed and some of the usual roads are starting to flood here in Humboldt.

Stay safe everyone.

Looming in the distance are large clouds... but for now, still sunny and dry here too!  Current ETA is 1PM for rain in my area.  CANT wait to have the pollen washed away from my deck.  It's covering EVERYTHING in a layer of yellow dust.  Wonder why I've got such bad allergies!  :smt044

In Lodi: Couple of sprinkles. About 5 minutes of small hail. We get more water from fog than what's fallen so far.

Getting some very cool cloud to cloud lightning this morning along with "scattered showers"
I'm really hoping this thing dumps a bunch and doesn't peter out
maybe I should be more patient!
