That's a  nice looking fish!  I was planning on heading up there tomorrow with my daughter so she could try out her new kayak. If you don't mind sharing, would you guys have any pointers?

P.s. I broke a prong on my fish finder, so I will be flying blind.

if i was going blind
look for rocky steep shore, stay away from the sand.
jig shallow water or deep water to shallow .
keep it on the bottom. and always set the hook when it touches bottom.
almost always they hit on the fall.

Hey John rice,
How are you guys getting down to the water at uvr? I went up there yesterday and couldn't find any open gates.. We even drove over to loon lake, but it was a little too windy.. Ended up fishing sly park.
 Thanks for any advice.

  Nick.

when you get to the top of icehouse rd ,make a left on peavine ridge, and when the road forks go right.
takes you to the dam

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

Great post...

How are the road conditions? I was up there last month and the roads were super icy... Did all the ice met from the roads yet?
