Found my fav site empty, see pic, surrounded by shrubs, close enouph to walk the yak, peacefull little site. Met Ron and his son at the ramp at 7:30 on the dot, beautiful weather/ conditions. Paddled north jigging the structure, a few big ling-like hits, but no lings for me today, thats ok cause I got a nice full limit on rockfish, my game hook was playing to a packed house.
Wish I got a pic of Ron and his son (sorry little dude, I forgot your name again!) They were on a single wilderness system and his kid was just kicking back on Pa's lap like a lazyboy chair.
Decided not to dive, it was a bit murky/ windy, surgy, plus I forgot my weight belt tho Ron said I could borrow his. Thanx anyway!
Ron got his ab limit in 30 plus feet of murky washing machine, another savage! It WAS the hunters moon this weekend.

Dude that site your tent is in looks like a perfect little wind block. 30 ft for Abs! I have no idea but Ron must be an animal. Good to see ya at Ft Backer.  I have to drop Ty off in Sac for Turkey Vaca. on the 17. I'm open for the whole week lets go kill something. Anyone else?  Randall

Yup, I love that place. That site is windfree no matter what direction, and the vehicle totaly blocks the road, very private.
Randall, Im up for a hunt, just let me know.
BTW, when does the season end for RF, lings?

Yeah, got to Ocean Cove at 6:30 am to prepare the gear.  Ben was locked and loaded to hit the water at 7:30 am.  Wished I had my camera out to take pic of Ben with colorful array of rockfishes displayed on his deck.  (I have to find a better way to access my camera ready for spontaneous shot at any moment;  hard to turn around and access it in the back seat when my 10-year-old son Mackie is sitting in front of me.)

Did not get ling or reds this time at Ocean Cove but found time to drive to Salt Point to gather some black mussels in the afternoon.  So we took home rockfishes, 3 abs and black mussels enough for a 7-day supply of food.

Anyone upto for some Dungenese crabs this weekend?  I only know how to get them at Linda Mar (Pacifica).  Does anyone knows how to get Dungeness crabs in Bodega Bay???

-Ron

PS.  Sorry Ben, our group pic in the cove was a ‘dark’ silhouette.  I forgot to take out the camera in ‘night’ vision shooting after using it during Halloween night.

ok, just to tell John your 50' marker; he has no trouble shooting lings at that depth.

Vis was 5' yesterday; peach black all the way down.  Crappy day of diving.

Ron has an electric shock gws repeller. Ive got the but end of a surf rod with a honkin big nail epoxied into the end. Not for diving of course, its just if they get too interested while im in the yak I can give em a good healthy poking. Thats if they cooperate too.
Adam, you can see my "new" stove on the table, Anita told me the old one was getting grungy, but it just needed a cleaning and a custom paint job. Phantom fish in a dry lakebed. Honkin big ones. Ben
