Mavericks Today

Dennis Baxter runs the New Capt. Pete in HMB.  Mike Baxter, my partner had his boat up at Mav's ferrying some Pro-Dudes for the big waves today.  He called it "12 hours of triple-black diamond surfing and boating.  Had one close call.  Here's Cuz Dennis and passenger getting launched."

Ghost Tree was breaking outside Stillwater.  The whole Carmel coastline was getting hammered.

Don't know if this is a video grab or what, but I'd sure like to see more, get the context.

Wow-  Looks like Dennis handled it right....But scary!! Turning off to the left at the top of the wave..... Big boat can't get  a quick start like the wave runners, but also has all that weight and inertia to plow through.  I'd say he was only a few seconds ahead of disaster though. 

Shot #26 has Mike Baxter's boat I believe- Its a 24' Parker.

That's crazy!! My dad's been close friends with Dennis since they were in high school together and used to spend lots of time on that boat. His eyes got real big when I showed him the video on FB hahaha.
