One of the wires on my LED light for the fiber optic sight broke rendering it useless.
Easy fix for 15 cents.....sort of. Tried to buy a single replacement bulb couldn't find any the right size.
Went to Big Lots and bought a string of 35 LED lights for $5. These have the short tops the same size as the one that came out of the sight. The pic of the light on the left is the one I replaced. You can see the replacement is the same size. They are cool white lights and work perfectly.
I also came across a different DIY lighted nock video on YouTube that calls for these kind of lights. Now I have plenty to practice with.

Gotta watch the regs if you hunt with those. Lighted knocks and electronic sights/lighted sights are often illegal.  :smt006

No they are not.
In CA it's only illegal if the light emitted shines on the target illuminating it in any way. The LED lights up your pins, not the target so they are fine. The lighted nock in no way illuminates the target, so they are fine too.

CA it is legal, but anywhere else you better check. All of that is illegal in Montana.

I wonder if you could use something like that to eliminate a swim bait?  Make it blink.....hmmm....

No critique intended, but is that for hunting, or target shooting?  Seems like if the light is so low that you need artificial light, it is too dark to shoot.  Typically those regular sight pins collect enough light that I can see the pin, even when I can't see the deer.

Either.
Sometimes I can see the target fine but the pins blend in with the target in the low light. The fiber optics with the led make the pins just light enough to see them.

Lighted pins would be really nice for lots of situations. Shooting raccoons would be awesome with lighted pins! Also when the sun is in your face hard, it would be nice too. I never understood the legal issue with luminocks. If anything it helps you find your arrow to evaluate the hit/miss. There are a lot of archery regulations across the country I have issue with. Several states mandate that the bow be able to launch an arrow 150 yards! Others have a 400 grain minimum arrow weight. Some say no more than 65% let off on the draw. Others say min of 55 pounds draw weight. None of which have anything to do with what will effectively kill an animal. Just gotta know the regs where you plan to hunt.

This is all true..... and that's why it's really surprising how California isn't so anal about archery regs like they are with just about everything else.

I wonder if the added weight of the battery affects arrow flight?  Are the vanes moved forward or back to compensate?

As long as you have 9% front of center weight you are ok. I use 13.1%

Tote.... are you using the led to light up your pins or are you making lighted nocks like in the video?

Looks like these lighted nocks might be cheaper and more reliable than the ones we make using bobber lights.  They just look heavier.  Got a total grain weight for the nock?   Does the carbon shaft complete the connection?

I used them to light up the pins.
Working on using them for lighted nocks...but it's a process I have yet to perfect..I'll post when I have it down pat.
