Wait for a good high pressure system. These up n down lows have got the sturgeon lock jawed. A buddy of mine was out last weekend and didn't even get one pump. They threw the kitchen sink and nada. They moved around and marked fish at every spot, but none were feeding. Monday and Tuesday next week look good.

in marin county there is the area near china camp, there is a small little park there that people launch from shore and it a small paddle out into san Pablo bay flats, also black point on Petaluma river, there is a lot of mud on the shores but some placed you can beach it and then shore fish a hole or slough.

That little launch spot is likely bullhead flat. People all's launch at the China camp village, both have issues with mud at about 1 foot of tide

Wanted to share about my first weekend trying for sturgeon in SPB. Last Saturday my boyfriend and I went out to the Marin islands. We got a late start and the tide was coming in so we went out for striper. We trolled for a bit with not a lot of luck so we anchored up and put some live ghost shrimp on the hook. Pretty instantly my boyfriend got an undersized striper and and then I get something that takes off so I release my anchor and get towed around for a bit and after a fun fight I get myself my first bat ray (and first kayak ride!)! We ended up catching a baby leopard shark,a few perch,  some little stripers, and jack smelt! It was a a lotta fun. Then Sunday our friend joined us and we went to China Camp. The tide was rippin pretty hard. My boyfriend got a keeper striper and then we all caught one or two little guys. Didn't get any sturgeon but we all definitely missed bites. All in all it was a good experience. Oh yeah until we paddled in at low tide and china camp wasn't reachable by kayak haha definitely learned some things that day! Can't wait to try again!

good job Annie, Have you guts been crabbing at Bodega lately? wondering if there is anything there.
or maybe its time to see if there is any crab left in HMB.

Haven't crabbed yet in 2015 but we have a freezer full of bait. Thinking of trying Muir beach sometime soon.

Being you're right in Rohnert Park, the Petaluma river is always good place to catch sturgeon. Me and some buddy's caught this one right next to the railroad tracks.

The next time you catch an oversized sturgeon please don't lift it by its gill plates.
