It's a little choppy out there, I'm just chilling watching the dozens of yaks that went out today…

it's looks doable , but I'm not the one out there dealing with that fast drift…

Thanks Vic,

it was nice to see a familiar face in that warehouse,,,  got me in and out,  back into the Monsoon on the way to Shelter…

Ummm, on that note, I've talked to others on the way up, and some say rain here and there, but for myself, it was pretty much Costa Rica Style Deluges; and I mean Lake Arenal Deluges, all the way to Shelter…

soon as I hit the ridge, down to shelter cove, sunny, cove is glass with whales frolicking and rainbows in the background over the hills where I just came from…

  pretty kool...

I was wondering why I got my doors blown off today on 101 by a pickup with an AI strapped on top of it! I was trying to catch up to see how you had your amas and everything loaded but someone was on a mission. Lol! Hope everyone has a great and safe time.

After 2 or so the fan really kicked up. The waves were already a bit hard to deal with before that. 5 people took a swim today from what I heard, 2 were very experienced kayakers. I almost landed in the water myself but manged the save. I went a lot further off shore than I should have knowing the report said what it said. Heading out was easy. Went out to 185' or so, 3-4 miles. We were fishing with the commercial fleet today. Was not bad till noon or so then the swells and wind wave started coming hard. Supposed to be the same report for game day. We will see. It is windy now at midnight.

The fan was howling in the water today, it was doable but very rough lol. I went out, turned around almost right away. Then went out again for a few more hours. Came back in at 9:30 am. Caught a few lings and rocks but nothing even remotely a contender.

One more day of fishing tomorrow! Hopefully I'll get one more nice day in before leaving Shelter Cove. I had to take a nap as soon as I got back off the water!

:smt010I don't want to name the winners so they or Eric  can announce it themselves. But the prizes are all given away and there were a lot of laughs, smiling faces, hugs, and good food.

I am glad I came out here! Maybe tomorrow I will decide to keep some fish to take home. I've been doing catch and release all week! If the weather calms down anyway!

Was my first GS and I have to say I had fun. Just wish there were salmon out there! Only one caught in the tournament and it was 20.5 inches! My totals for the day were a 24" ling, 2 18" Cabbies, and 2  Black Cods. It was pretty rough out there with the wind and the swells but Rockman and I went all the way to the Red Can. Went out yesterday and caught 4 Lings 2 of which I kept 23 and 24 inches, and there blacks. Lots of fish to take home. The potluck was great! Lots of good food and good people. Everyone was friendly. Raffle was a bust because I didn't win! Great prizes! Just jealous!  The Predator was sweet! Would have loved to have won that! Thanks again Eric for putting on a great Tournament!

I was glad I made it out yesterday and said hi to as many as I could.  Had Pliny with some friends and learned it is as good as gold for bartering.  Could not stay because of prior commitments but hope all had a great time.

I paid the entry fee knowing I most likely was not going to participate and helped stack the cash pot because I am impressed with how much work Eric puts into the event.

I am sure Jacks tacos were a hit as usual so everyone must be stuffed and not able to type updates.
