I had rebuilt my 70 Mach 1, was deep in playing guitar in what would be the the beginning of the Hair Metal days, tweaking both my Mustang and Mark 2 Mesa Boggie for more power …

and had a Red Headed Varsity Cheerleader as a Girl Friend….   :smt061

My guys, are not interested in Muscle Cars or 80's Arena Rock and play Classical Jazz Piano…

and find girls and their nonsense, "Distracting…"

They are constantly tweaking and experimenting with something else curious as how to increase power…

Not sure where this is going, but everyday our house does not burn down is a good day…

Anyone know about Fusion Reactors and would it be safe to build one?   :smt087 :smt102

this is the latest plasma test and some sort of special transformer that their excited about….

Cool stuff Don! I was in Hazmat school recently and  learned about the "Nuclear Boy Scout" and how not to make one (google it). Apparently he collected smoke alarms for the radioactive substance and tried to build a homemade reactor and it didn't go so well. He tried to dispose of it at a local dumpster and luckily got pulled over by the cops. Check out his picture, he has sores all over his face from radioactive exposure.

I'm sure you guys are safe though and you have proper supervision working with your boys. Have fun and good luck with that!

+10
But in a good way, not the type that blows up the neighborhood.

Look on the bright side they'll make their own living and won't be living the house when they're 30 :)

That's what their Physics teacher says…

Copy that, and they already nixt that program for said reasons,  the Fusion Reactor is something different.  It's not the same radiation, in fact, they tell me it has no radiation, but it can emit x-rays, to wit, they need to work with Lead tape…  another problem, but according to them, fusion reaction is the best solution for energy for the future and that France is leading the charge in this direction and will probably have this going in the next few years.

House is still in one piece ...

Ummm... WOW!  That's some serious science there!  Not that I understand it...  But WOW your kids do, and that's very impressive!  Only thing I know is that a couple of magnets that big are seriously dangerous.  Glad the house hasn't burned down!  I almost burned down my garage with my science once  :smt005

Well, at least fusion is not radioactive......It's fission you have to worry about.  If they start talking about fission, just say no.

Very Cool stuff--I wonder what kind of application there is for that?  Some type of crazy arc-welding?

We design & build stuff like electron guns, ion pumps, ultra-high vacuum heaters (up to ~1900°C output temp), emitters and other fun stuff that takes high energy levels up to ~ 25,000 volts here where I work.  Fun stuff!  Every day I go home with all my fingers is a good day!
