Well we're here. At this time December 26th, 9:30am the campground is fairly quiet. The beach doesn't look like it did for the LRC as it has lost a lot of sand. Weather has been mild and it was 39 degrees early this morning. Surf has been about 3-4 ft and the tide hasn't been low at the right hours to get to Chicken Cove. Wind today is less than yesterday and weather is improving. Waves are pretty consistent and with the beach break happening 60 or 70 yards out those steady breakers have looked slightly sporty. I am sitting in my wetsuit, rigged up, and will grab an opening when I see one. I expect it will be soon. The sun is shinning.

I just reserved site 24 for me and 28 for Hobie Dave.  We will be arriving Sunday afternoon and departing Tuesday.  Keep those conditions improving!

Well Jim, some great people showed up Sat am, everyone who has tried made it to Chicken Cove. I would say NCKA is represented by 20 peps, 12-15 kayaks in the water now. Between my love of family and breakfast and the fact we didn't reserve another night I will day use /fish at TC. I regret not being able to test paddle the Viking Reload and fishing solo when so many good friends are around. But there is next timeLast night was probably below 40 degrees so far today wind is light, sky's are sunny, and swells are small and from the north west.

I was quoted $30 a night + the $10.00 booking fee per site .  That includes water and electrical hook-ups and use of the dump station on departure.  No second vehicles, just one RV and yak trailer per site.  I booked a site for me and one for Hobie Dave.  The lady confirmed a price of $70 per site for the 2 nights.  I'm assuming there may be taxes on top of that.  Brenda gets $30 a night + $2 for electricity.  Considering the services available at Anchor Bay, this seems pretty fair.  The $20 extra for an additional car seems pretty steep to me.   Has anyone tried to negotiate a deal for NCKA?  It sounds like we have become a pretty big customer and loosening up a little on the second car rate would be beneficial for her, allowing more sites to be available than if each car took their own site.  What's the difference between a car and a trailer and two cars?

Hey guys see you'all tomorrow early, so looking forward to chill'n with friends and getting some well deserved OTW therapy, seriously. I was hoping to get up there today but family in town and holiday stuff put the smack down on that idea.
