I'm heading to HMB tomorrow for my first time kayak crabbing. Anyone else going that would want to meet up and share some of their experience? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure there's a large group already there for the weekend and more folks showing up (better forecast) on Sunday. I don't think you'll have difficulty meeting up with some fine NCKA folks.  One tip, people tend to launch early because the ocean tends to be more calm and the wind picks up in the afternoon.

And assuming you got all that covered, Cabeza and I will be at the HMB Kayak beach at 6-ish tomorrow morning getting ready to launch.  You're welcome to tag along.  Latest update to the forecast looks good.

We'll be at HMB Kayaks, not the old pier, so just look for us on the water.  Give a shout out on Ch. 69.

I just got permission to ditch Sunday brunch, so I'm loading up to be out there in the morning!  Plan to launch at the Old Pier unless parking is an issue. See you guys out there.

I'll be there with some co-workers on a boat.  Will keep in-touch on CH 69.

There are still a few of here still; and most are coming back Sunday....

Dont need to venture far; good quality and quatity caught fairly. Lose to the rockwall/ beach.

Nust please, DO  NOT DROP ANY POTS IN THE BOATING LANE; PBers are getting upset and kayaker are getting the blame...

Be safe and keep one eye one the ocean at all times!

Make sure you guys have your flags or something visual. I had to wave my hand to boaters that were heading towards me.

I was out there this morning for my first time as well.  I met quite a number of forum members, but I swear that I don't remember anyone's name on here.  I was the big guy on the Big Tuna kayak with the biggest smile on his face.

I hope you guys ended up doing as well as I did.  My family already claimed all the crab.  I am so looking forward to coming back!

I was the guy talked with you on the way out, with orange kayak/wheeleez.
I was shocked to hear you limit out so fast. Need to learn a thing or two from you where to drop traps.
We did not do that great today.

Sorry, it was just beginner's luck.  I like to think that me baiting the pots very heavily also had something to do with it, but I was just lucky.

I'm gonna see if I can try again during the week to see if it was really a fluke.

Is that u Harrison? :smt006 Droppd pots in same area and managed a limit too after 3+ hours.  Found that short 40 min soaks and moving pots resulted in best results. Many short Dungies and rock crab in the mix.
