Thanks to Pacific Outfitters for another great TRW and Lowrance, Branson Baits, Beacon Rods and all of the other sponsors.  This is such a fun tournament, with lots of big fish caught.

For me rock fishing at Trinidad once again humbled me.  My fish count for the day was 6 blacks, 3 lings, 1 under sized cab, 1 spiny dog, and 1 starfish.  My brother had a hard time keeping fish on the hook and after six hours had one fish, which did turn out to be our highest scoring fish.

And congrats to team Big Hammer with their impressive stringer.

Great event! I really like fishing Trinidad although she didn't produce for me this year, I had a blast. Congrats Rob and David on the win!

Did any happen to find/ pickup a Fisherman's Solution fillet knife sheath at the fillet tables? It is black with a stone and grippers built in. I went back to my kayak to grab a few more fish and when I got back to the table it was gone.   :smt012

Also missing a Scotty rod holder w/ extension.

Awesome event, good fishing, great tourney. Did anyone get a picture of the scoreboard they could post. I had to take off before they posted the scores but just wanted to see how everybody did. Great weekend already looking forward to next year. Thanks

Cool people, good food and badass fish.   I love fishing Trinidad and am blessed to live 20 minutes away.

Rf bite was insane.  Black rf were mostly 18-20".  Too many to count.  Fisheducator got a 23".  Biggest of the day!

I landed my first fish on the handline ever.  19" black on smelt I netted from humboldt bay.  Probably caught a dozen of em before I moved on.  They were just gobbling up the smelt!

Congratulations to Rob and David on the win. It's great competing against badass fishermen like you guys!  Same with everyone out there.  Great group of fisherman!

Another awesome TRW event this year!  We lucked out with that weather window on tourney day.  The fishing was some of the better rockfishing I've seen in Trinidad, with a LOT of awesome fish weighed in.  Congrats to Tigerfish and Matanaska on clinching the win, you guys are rockfish slayers!

MattSwayze and I (the aMayesing Brothers) clinched 3rd place for the second year in a row!  We were stoked to place two years in a row.  I'd done a little pre-fishing the day before with Matanaska, but on tourney day we explored some new-to-us reefs and pulled up some really nice fish.  I quickly stuck a few nice kelp greenling in the shallows, and after that we focused on the deeper 50-100 foot depths for rockfish and lings.  Given that my freezer was all but devoid of rockfish and I live 5 hours from the coast, I did a good amount of harvesting on tourney day.  Gotta make those coast trips count before winter!

Big thanks to Aaron and all the guys at Pacific Outfitters for putting together another awesome event, and Mike/Lowrance for hooking it up with the Elite 5 fishfinders/chart plotters!  I hope to test mine out on Lake Almanor soon.

Nice fish Chris. Is the bronze looking one a copper? I caught a pretty nice one of those but it didn't quite look like the copper on my id chart. I thought the coppers maybe had some greenish splotches?

Thanks!  It's a brown rockfish.  The key ID feature with coppers is the posterior half of the lateral line will be light colored.  No greenish splotches.  The fish in the photo below is a copper.
