Does anyone have experience with these Gomexus reels? They any good? This particular model looks just like the Avet SX minus the handle style and emblem.

You know I tried a few Chinese knockoffs, not the reel off ebay for other things. Looks are similar but contents were nothing like real things. Learned a lesson to buy the real things.

So they're just pretty on the outside -- internal components suck. Good to know. I'll be sticking with Avet.

Its funny, I have had an entirely different experience with Chinese direct sales. I've bought five carbon bike frames now, three handlebars, couple of seatposts, bunch of ceramic BB bearings, headsets, bottle cages, couple of carbon wheelsets, and the quality of all of them has been impeccable, with a price usually about a third or quarter of their branded brethren.
I've got two companies that I regularly get my parts from and they're amazing to deal with. Great communication, fast shipping,
nd in one case even a smooth return. With aliexpress you don't pay until you confirm delivery, so that's a bonus for unknown sellers.

Over the last couple of years I've noticed the direct sellers are actually leading with designs not yet seen by the major brands, and half a year later they catch up...crazy.

Mine were electronics for what its worth.
I imagine a lot of bike parts are already manufactured in China.

Most things are manufactured in China. Truly...

you name it, if it is manufactured at scale in all likelihood its from china (including electronics)

The question is always the quality-- from the sourcing i did in the past, you could start with a design, and then basically dial the quality (materials + attention to detail) to meet the price point you wanted.
