yeah that is a great deal...the shipping can ad to each jigs final cost some too...the 50 bulk order trims this even more imo

I ordered like ten of the 10 packs and shared the cost with buddies over this season...this last time I just bit the bullet and got the 50 pack...I figure in the long run I will save some on per. cost and multiple shipping $$$ times...I think I paid 6$ each shipping x10 I paid 60$ in shipping

this last order was around 60$ with shipping in that too already... for 50 jigs

 can add
I found plain 4oz. shad heads on Ebay for 13.99 for ten.8/0 hook

That's weird they wouldn't combine shipping for you. Did you order them all from the same seller?

Cam,

You should write up a post about how you do your jigs from start to finish and put it up in the DIY section of the forum. Would be a good tutorial for those who might want to do it themselves.

1.Clean lead ingots
2. Ingots into lee melting pot with bottom spout.
3. Pour into mold
4. Heat jig up from torch and insert into fluid bed.
5. Put jigs in cheap countertop oven for 40 min at 375 to harden paint.
6. Add 10+mm eyes to 4oz jighead using loctite ashesive.

Its simple and I bake them with the eyes on so they stick better.  Baking does help from chipping.  The prices on Ebay make more sense to buy those and paint em yourself cause the price too good for the amount of time it takes to clean lead and make ingots to pour the jigs yourself.  Its almost the same cost that you end up paying for hooks and lead just buying them bulk on Ebay

The hooks themselves are costly relative to the lead at .30 cents a hook. I do use the nicer ultra points though.

nice stuff thanks for posting the way you do em
helped me to see where Im screwing up,taking short cuts...need the fluid bed and a better stand and low heat sure deal...they work for now
By next off season I am gonna do em nicer though

weird side note...I dont loose the ones I make now as often..i think it has more to do with 4 oz being the answer when 75-220 f.o.w
(or the steel leader and 65lb superslick)
but I can now fish a jig all day most days or loose maybe one from being dumb etc...knock on wood/jinx my ass now for the morning lol
