Lots of beat up salmon just below the gates at the hatchery, even saw a 15 - 20 lb catfish swiming oround with them.
Shore - fished for a couple of hours fought a big one for a few minutes till he threw the hook(barbless) a foot from shore. Glad he got off, he was kind of nasty looking and I believe foul-hooked as well. Their cruising right against the shore, very cool sight. A few steelies as well. If youve never seen this I highly recomend it. When the hatchery opens, it quite a sight, lots of jumping and scrambling looking for a date. Kind of like a singles bar scene. Oh, and some of them are HUGE, up to 40 lb range.
