Brian,

I could assist with your launch, but you might wanna hold off on bringing the boat; looks like her maiden voyage might have to wait.

Looking at the forecast, looks like there might be small craft advisories for this weekend:

PZZ545-020415-
POINT REYES TO PIGEON POINT TO 10 NM-
226 PM PDT THU OCT 1 2015

...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
LATE SATURDAY NIGHT...

TONIGHT
NW WINDS 5 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 1 TO 3 FT. NW SWELL
3 TO 5 FT AT 14 SECONDS.

FRI
NW WINDS 10 TO 20 KT. WIND WAVES 2 TO 4 FT. NW SWELL 3 TO
5 FT AT 12 SECONDS.

FRI NIGHT
NW WINDS 10 TO 20 KT. WIND WAVES 2 TO 4 FT. NW SWELL
3 TO 5 FT AT 11 SECONDS.

SAT
NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5 FT. NW SWELL 2 TO
4 FT AT 11 SECONDS.

SAT NIGHT
W WINDS 20 TO 30 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5 FT. NW SWELL
4 TO 6 FT AT 11 SECONDS. SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AFTER MIDNIGHT.

SUN
W WINDS 10 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT OR LESS. W SWELL 2 TO 4 FT.
SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

Even local point & click surf websites have winds to 26mph (gusting to 35); wind waves couples with the north swell, might make for an ugly day on the water...

I'll be chilling on land this weekend....

It doesn't look fun out there by the forecast. Tell Rachel that we can pick a nicer day and anchor up and have lunch with Joel. I'll even fry some spam up and send it overboard.

Trying to debate on salvaging this weekend... do we

a: go ahead with FnC, and just keep it to more of a "Chill"...

b. cancel the FnC, and just a  dinner at one of Joel's places to eat...

c. Postpone the FnC for a better day....

A decision obviously needs to be made soon. Some peeps are making a somewhat long drive.

I agree, the water will not likely cooperate, we could postpone and do it later on.

Doesn't look bad in the morning.  Looks like same conditions as last Sat (also with SCA) when I went out.

Down to chill in the harbor lot. Dinner at flavor by the harbor is an option too. Joel knew one of the owners.

That would be keeping it more with Joel's style...... he was definitely more about the "Chill"....

Was initially thinking the same thing; we did the Flavors Hookup a few winters ago with Joel and had a great time.

But we will most likely keep the Chill to the parking lot.... may hit up Flavors tonight, depending on what time I get to the harbor....

Wind and Wave for Pillar Point show a slightly different picture; winds light in the morning and picking up in the afternoon...

But it shouldn't affect us land lubbers! Maybe I'll go fishing at Sharky's Tuna boat friend's boat :smt003
