North base was closed this was probably 10+ Miles south of there.

After today's TWO attacks it's closed at both ends.

IT was closed and you guys still went out? Man you have some big ones! 10 miles doesn't seem to far to me , glad you are safe.

Glad to hear you are OK! Let us know if you need help replacing anything lost! anyone have a link to the news report on this?

Found these two. Excerpt : "Ryan Howell was fishing with two friends. They were five feet away from each other when Howell's fishing partners said a shark breached the water, launching him five to ten feet in the air"

So much for that safety in numbers concept. Were your two buddys in Hobbies too?

Heard this on the national news this morning, crazy, glad to see you are ok. There has been a lot of shark activity recently.

Scary - glad you are OK Ryan.  Looks like a huge shark.

Was there a second kayak hit that day?  This story suggests so but hard to tell?

Yeah, was a first attack in the morning, but the shark circled the yak and hit after and saw it coming knocked him in the water. Took a small bite out of his yak. That guy and his sun and another were taken back to shore by a boat on the water.

Three of us used the theory safety in numbers and lightning striking twice in a day and decided to stick it out and try and find some fish. So we stuck together not getting any further then 5 feet apart from each other and well that did not work. As I turned into a skit from shark week. Scary crap...

Fishing sucked two lings on deck and that was it.

Lucky I had a VHF as no one else had one on them and was able to call for help on channel 16 and get a boat about a mile or two away to turn around and head to pick us up and got us out of the water and we pulled the yak up.

Was crazy for sure.

Maybe I'll just drink beer for October, or at least stay out of the salt.

Is there GoPro down at the bottom?  If so, maybe someone dives and gets it?  Will go International if there is, could probably sell it for a fortune.
